This time on Top Chef All Stars: the chefs spend their time in the Bahamas, diving for conch and cooking on a deserted island. To start things off, for the Quickfire Challenge, the four contestants were split up into teams of two - the women against the men. Richard and Mike were sure they had this challenge in the bag, but were surprised in the end when they lost to a tenderloin salad. Tiffany and Antonia took away the $5,000.
Time to get to their Elimination Challenge, where the chefs had to make a lunch for the Nassau Yacht Club to celebrate one couple's wedding anniversary. They were sent to the island to cook on the shoreline, with barely any equipment, and a lot of sand to avoid from getting into their food. They also had to be sure to incorporate conch into their meal, which they had to dive for themselves and had the added trouble of trying to get them out of the shell.
Richard went for an interesting and very non-tropical twist with his dish, turning sweet potatoes into a pasta-like dish. Tom himself didn't even know it wasn't pasta, a very impressive feat to pull that off. Mike ended up taking away the win (again) with his steamed banana leaf wrapped grouper with conch vinaigrette on top. Tiffany's soup was not only too sweet, but by the time it got to the table it was too cold, and that sent her packing her knives.
Now only three constants remain. How did you guys like this episode?
