X-Men: First Class will be seeing a sequel and fans can expect more of Michael Fassbender as the sequel will include a back story of Magneto. Film writer/producer Simon Kinberg says it will be "unlike the other X-Men movies." Kinberg hopes to do some unexpected things with Xavier and Magneto. "Magneto becomes the villain ultimately of the franchise but he's a much more complicated character as a young man. He's someone you sympathize with, you care about, you root for even though you might not necessarily agree with his methods, you understand his philosophy," he explains.
Only a few details of the sequel have been revealed like Magneto's role which has a "villainous side" but also a "sympathetic human side." Kinberg promises, "You'll be able to relate, but you'll also be afraid of him."
The X-Men: First Class sequel is expected to begin shooting next and will come out in July of 2004.
2014 seems like a lightyear away but I am definitely very excited for this sequel!
